Diamonds
Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. A lab-grown diamond is pure carbon crystal, the same material as a mined diamond, with the same hardness, fire and sparkle. Only its origin is different: it grows in a lab instead of deep underground.
How are lab-grown diamonds graded?
On the same four Cs as mined diamonds: cut, colour, clarity and carat. Independent labs such as IGI and GIA grade lab-grown diamonds the same way they grade mined ones.
Will a lab-grown diamond go cloudy or change colour?
No. It is a diamond, so it keeps its colour and clarity for life. Like any diamond, it can pick up a film of skin oil and lotion; a gentle clean brings the sparkle straight back.
Gold
What is the difference between 14k and 18k?
14k is 58.5% gold and 18k is 75% gold. 14k is harder, which suits pieces you wear every day; 18k has a richer colour. Both are solid gold all the way through.
How do yellow, white and rose gold differ?
All three are real gold, mixed with other metals for colour. Rose gold's warmth comes from copper. White gold is usually finished with a bright rhodium layer, which can be renewed if it wears after years of daily wear.
Orders
Where do you ship?
Across India and to other countries.
Will I get a GST invoice?
Yes. Every order comes with a GST invoice.
How do I find my ring size?
Measure a ring that fits, or wrap a strip of paper round your finger, then use our ring size guide at hoticejewels.com/ring-size. It converts Indian sizes to millimetres and US sizes.
Can I see a piece properly before I buy it?
Every ring and earring has a 360° view rendered from its own design file. Drag it to turn it, and switch between yellow, white and rose gold to see each one.
When can I place an order?
Checkout opens at launch. Until then you can add pieces to your bag; it stays saved on your device.
Care
How do I clean my diamond earrings?
Soak them for a few minutes in warm water with a drop of mild soap, brush gently behind the stones with a soft toothbrush, rinse, and dry with a lint-free cloth.
How should I store them?
Keep each pair in its own soft pouch or compartment. Diamond is hard enough to scratch other jewellery, and other diamonds.
When should I take them off?
Before swimming in chlorinated water, at the gym, when using cleaning products, and while putting on lotion, hairspray or perfume.
