Solitaire, halo or three-stone: choosing a ring

Six ring styles, what each says, and how to choose yours.

The style of a ring decides how the centre diamond is shown off. Here are the six styles in our collection.

Solitaire

One diamond, nothing to distract from it. The most timeless choice, and the one that lets the stone's cut speak loudest.

Halo

A ring of small diamonds round the centre stone. It makes the centre look larger and adds sparkle from every angle.

Three-stone

A centre diamond with a smaller stone at each side. Side stones in a different cut, like pears beside a cushion, give the ring its own character.

Toi et moi

French for "you and me": two diamonds side by side, often in two different cuts. Personal and modern.

Band

Diamonds set along the band itself, alone or worn beside another ring. Easy to wear every day and easy to stack.

Statement

Wide bands and rows of pavé round a centre stone. A ring that is noticed first.

How to choose

  • Want the diamond to look as big as possible? Choose a halo, or a long cut such as oval, pear or marquise.
  • Use your hands a lot? A solitaire or band in 14k gold sits lower and stands up to daily wear.
  • Want something nobody else has? Try a toi et moi or a three-stone with mixed cuts.

Every ring turns in 360°, so you can see each style from every side. Discover the rings.
